Who am I
Since this is my website I think I should tell a bit about myself.
I am Pieter van der Star,
35 years of age and live in Nås, a village along the Västerdalsälven in Dalarna, Sweden.
I followed a four-year MBO education for a light technician at the ROC Midden Nederland, and graduated in 2011. Subsequently on my education to lighting technician
I have studied electrical engineering at the The Hague university where I graduated in 2016.
I currently work as an FPGA and software developer and volunteer remotely for a local broadcasting company in the area where I grew up. When I am there I sometimes do some technical jobs. From Sweden I develop and maintain the back-end of the website and part of the news-management system.
Theatre
I have always been interested in the world of theatre. When I went to the theatre as a boy I always thought the technical aspect relly interesting. When I got home afterwards I always built a play with lights and sounds in Lego.
When, in the fourth year of
high school I had to choose a continuation study I did not know what too choose. That changed when the schools theatre club announced they were looking for people who wantet do work on the sound and lighting. I joined and liked it so much that I went to the dean and asked if there were schools where they tought how to do that professionaly.
There were, and so I ended up at the ROC Midden Nederland.
Electronics
I liked to look deeper into the electronical components dimmers and other devices are made of. That is why I started on my next education. I chose to attend the The Hague University of Applied Sciences in Delft.
There I found out about digital electronics, programming and digital hardware design, far more interesting. In fact I like the latter so much that in my spare time I am desiging a microcontroller and also use my FPGA for other hobby projects.
